In Episode 26 of the PodcastTools.com Weekly Update, I decided to put things to the test and record the show using my laptop’s soundcard and a Griffin iMic $30 soundcard solution. My initial hope was that the difference could be “heard” by the average listener.
It is much more obvious than I thought. Basically, the difference can be heard by anyone with ears. An external sound card really does make all the difference – even a cheap one.
If you’re Podcasting, I won’t claim you need to drop a thousand bucks on the process but this little $30 Gizmo (or one like it I’m sure) can make all the difference in the world.
What do I normally use? I have the Podcaster’s Pro Interview Package, and the Podcasters Portable Recorder – both from www.YourPodcastGear.com.
Who knows, maybe Santa will bring me some new toys on Sunday.
Merry Christmas everyone.
