Tivocasting … These Guys Are Good (But Maybe Too Fast?)

Read the Press Release here. And for fun, read these comments from TivoBlog and PVR Blog.

So, Tivo is going to expand their timeshifted video service (you can already get Rocketboom and Cnet) in something they're calling “TivoCasting.” Fine, they can call it that.

I guess, come to think of it, I've been receiving my Tivocasts of Rocketboom and the Cnet stuff for a few months now. Of course the Friday Cnet update comes on Monday's and Rocketboom is pretty much always a day late (and sometimes absent). I don't know if it is the best move launching before what you got works well.

And, Tivo, I've read your privacy policy, so I know you know what I got, when I'm getting it, etc.

Looks like they got content for pretty much everyone (kids, geeks, alternative lifestyle participants, extreme sports, etc.).

Smart move.

Wouldn't it be funny if Tivo ends up being the company that everyone copied almost out of existence, but got video Podcasting right, and to the masses, before everyone else did.

If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes I guess.

And trust you me this (said without breaking a single NDA), export more from these guys, complete with a hack of my own (entirely legal too) to make it even cooler.
