This Just In – People Pay For Premium Content On Their Own Terms

Apple Insider writes of the news that Apple sold 125,000 movie downloads in week one.

Lets run the numbers – movies at $9.99, $12.99 and $14.99 even if folk only bought the $9.99 titles, we're talking more than $1.2 million in sales week 1.

The impulse buy of a song at 99 cents or a tv episode at $1.99 quickly starts to fade away when you pass the $10 range – unless, of course, people want to be in charge of their content and will pay for the pleasure.

My “Unconference Unkeynote” at Podcast Expo will cover these numbers – and more.
