Rocketboom v. Scobleshow sounds like a strange way to start this. The thing they really only have in common is that they are video Podcasts – and they’ve given enough info for us to run some ad sales numbers.
So let’s do that, shall we.
We know Scobleshow is making a minimum of 400k a year.
We know Rocketboom is asking for 3 to 5k per episode for their new sponsorship model.
Let’s go with 3k, 5 times a week, 52 weeks a year. That assumes lowest price but all inventory sold.
$15k a week means $780k a year.
Obviously, Andrew’s model requires ad sales. Scoble secured a contract (and it sounds like multi-year) so we’ve got one less position in his group.
But, between these two properties, we’re looking at more than a million in revenue.
Nice job guys!
Anybody else want to share some numbers?
