Well, it is now that time of the year, the time of the year where I focus on the promotion and launch of Podcast Secrets. This is our high-level virtual class where we teach the monetization of Podcasting for people looking to, get this, monetize their Podcast. We had a great run last year and Podcast Secrets 2008 looks to be even better.
I’ll do what I can to keep the promotion as low key as possible but realize that this is what helps me pay the bills.
My goal is to share my new media promotion efforts with you here at the blog.
I thought I’d start by telling you about something I’m trying in the promotion space – a “fans” page for Podcast Secrets at Facebook. It’s a bit different than other pages in Facebook because it A) can be viewed without being a Facebook member (try it – or log out and see what happens when you view the page) and B) by the very nature of the whole “Fans” thing lends its self more to promotion, etc. I’ll let you know how that goes.
I’m also trying ads within Facebook. So far nothing exciting to report there.
We’re going to do all of the “traditional” things an affiliate program, a $20 call, a special report and more. The affiliates shall be in strong force. I’ll report anything exciting / new that happens there.
BTW, Tuesday at the Social Media Telesummit when I chat about “Selling Content You Once Gave Away For Free,” part of the presentation will be the straight numbers on why the preview call for Podcast Secrets is $20 and not free. Fascinating stuff.
Any social media web 2.0 type marketing things that you’ve seen work well? Let me know. I’d love to use ’em.
